Paging in North Queensland

Established in 1981, Pagex designed and commissioned the first wide area paging service in North Queensland.

Over the next few years, this was followed by several other firsts within the industry.

Shortly after introducing the "Tone Only" Office beeper, Pagex introduced the first information pager - the voice communicator which delivered a message from the caller.

A few years later, Pagex was the first privately owned paging spoken operator in Australia to be "interconnected" to the PSTN - allowing the introduction of the written message alpha-numeric pager.

At this time, the coverage of Pagex's service became nation wide.

Currently Pagex offers the full range of wide area paging services with coverage Australia wide (see coverage maps)

Trunked Mobile Radio

Pagex operates the BISCOM NQ wide area trunking service - delivering the next generation of two-way radio services to our clients.

This service offers all the advantages of traditional two-way radio dispatch PLUS numerous enhancements.

Wide area coverage, telephone interconnection, GPS positioning (optional) and multiple call capability.

Two way Radio Repeaters

Local area business operators appreciate the simplicity of operation of the standard Pagex repeater.

In Townsville, these commercial repeaters are housed in a purpose built telecommunications building located on Mount Stuart - which provides an exceptionally wide are of coverage around Townsville.
